While I was working on this fan art I listened to Bob Dylan's opus, so I considered naming this piece after Dylan's Times They are A-Changin' as I thought the title summed the essence of the show's first two seasons perfectly...

Billy Idol

Billy Idol put a great show in Belgrade last week. The first piece was inspired by his 1993 experimental concept album Cyberpunk often regarded as his weakest record that started the decline of his career. I, on the other hand, think that this futuristic concept album, influenced by techno and cyberpunk literature, suited Idol's image perfectly and to me it remains his most imaginative effort. Out of pure boredom, I turned a very rough unused comic book panel sketch into this bizarre piece of artistic improvisation.

Anytime... Baby!

The artwork was inspired by the film "Top Gun" and the slogan "Anytime, Baby" that the F-14 "Tomcat" fighter crews sported on their squadron insignia. After more than 30 years in active service, the "Tomcat" was retired in September of 2006.

MiG pilots

Character designs based on true testimonials by surviving Yugoslav MiG-29 pilots who flew their 14 malfunctioning jets against NATO in 1999. I did a lot of research and put a lot of time and effort into retrieving every possible information in order to reconstruct these events as true as possible. I hope to produce some more of these character sheets in the future, hopefully to include some more MiG pilots as well as some of their NATO adversaries.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day

The Terminator films had a huge influence on me when I was 10. So, it's kinda cool I created this pin-up - although it was not a planned effort! I was just doodling faces for practice and an Arnie-looking character appeared on paper. I realized it had a room for improvement and figured that, with a little effort, I could turn it into a decent full scale pin-up. The next day I added the characters of John and Sarah Connor and a Hunter-Killer hovercraft and - voila!

Dawson's Creek

The Spielberg-boy and the Girl from the Wrong Side of the Creek... I kinda loved the show's first season back in 2002 or 2003 when it first aired on Serbian TV... The rest of the series was... meh. The pic of Dawson was drawn and colored in 2013 to complement the pic of Joey that I drew back in 2010 (when I rewatched the show) and re-colored in 2012.

Urke the Airman

I always wanted to be a fighter pilot but (for all the obvious reasons) this remained just a pipedream. However, I managed to fly the world's most powerful jets through this comic book character - Urke the Airman. The first episode originates back to 2000 when the character was initially conceived, but was actually drawn in 2004. The second episode followed a year later. Both have been published in various magazines. In 2009 I drew these other two colored illustrations.

Iggy / Funboy

A cross between Iggy Pop and a character named FunBoy from "The Crow" that was loosely based on Pop's persona (Pop was supposedly cast in the role, but due to his touring commitments the part went to Michael Massee eventually).

The lyrics are off Pop's 1996 album "Naughty Little Doggie", the track "I Wanna Live". The background is an homage to Detroit - the city in which the dark and violent movie takes place and which spawned garage proto-punk bands such as Iggy's own Stooges.

Iggy Pop

Easily one of my all-time favorite performers. I saw Iggy's show live in Belgrade in 2008. His onstage passion, honesty and dedication has been a constant inspiration to me. This has been inspired by Pop's looks during the 1993-1994 "American Caesar" era. UPDATE: Colors were redone in 2012.

Dead Musicians Society

Dead musicians from each decade: John Lennon marked the 60s, Joey Ramone emerged in the 70s, Michael Jackson highlighted the 80s and Kurt Cobain was the icon of the 90s movement.

Prisoner of Azkaban

Another fan take at Alfonso Cuaron's inspired motion picture rendition of J.K. Rowling's third Harry Potter novel. The Dementor and Sirius Black poster elements of the illustration were rendered in full detail and treated separately.

Aliens: Ripley

A modern heroine. Although I prefer James Cameron's take on the "Alien" franchise, I portrayed Lt. Ripley closer to the "Alien 3" version of David Fincher.

When I started working on this I wanted to make it a Moebius-style illustration, but I lost that quality somewhere along the process...

Gule: Hronike jednog Junaka

"Gule: the Chronicles of a Hero" is a short parodic tribute to a real life friend and mentor. It has been exhibited at the 7th International Comics Festival in Belgrade in the September of 2009 and also published in Komiko's "New Serbian Comics" anthology in June 2010.

Nick Slaughter

The leading character (portrayed by actor Rob Stewart) from the TV show "Tropical Heat / Sweating Bullets" became somewhat of a cultural icon in Serbia during the troublesome 90's. I was in elementary school back then and Nick Slaughter was equal to God in the eyes of my classmates. The Serbian student movement embraced the character as their trademark during the protests against Slobodan Milošević's regime in 1996/97.

Slobodan Perić "Buca"

Yugoslav MiG-29 pilot that was shot down by an American F-15 during the NATO bombing in 1999. He survived ejection from an altitude of 7.000 meters, but tragically died ten years later in a car accident.

Robotech

Rick Hunter from the 80s space opera Robotech. I loved the show back in 1991-1992 and still do.

The Addams Family

I first discovered The Addams Family in 1994 at the age of ten. During the next three years I have produced tons of comics that featured Charles Addams' iconic characters. This short comic from 2005 is a symbolic farewell tribute to my favorite childhood obsession.
