Billy Idol

I forgot to post this from 2015, drawn after Billy Idol's show in Belgrade.

Iggy Pop!

Some of my recent Iggy Pop fan art.
The first one is based on later Pop era, and the 2nd one is based on his 1996 album cover for "Naughty Little Doggie".

Liam Gallagher

Liam Gallagher's "As You Were" was a nice surprise of an album!
Saw him live at Exit Festival this July, did not regret it!

Misfits Kid

"I send my murdergram to all these monster-kids...
it comes right back to me signed in their parents' blood!"

Teenager from Mars inspired by the Danzig-era Misfits. A remake of my old drawing from 2002 drawn in high school.

The Original Misfits!!!

As a Misfits fan for almost 15 years I was very excited this May when it was announced that Glenn Danzig, the mastermind behind the original incarnation of the band, will be reuniting with his former axemen the Caiafa bros Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein for the first time since 1983. Although I have featured various line-ups of Misfits (classic and Graves-era) in my art since 2002, I was inspired to create these posters. And I will continue to do so, as I find the band's unique blend of horror and punk very inspiring.

Doyle

Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, the iconic guitarist of the legendary horror-punk band Misfits! I was obsessed with their music and imagery during the final year of high-school.

Oasis: the Tabloid Times

Liam and Noel Gallagher of Oasis, inspired by the Brit-Pop mania of the mid-90s... The background collage was the most interesting part to create. All the tabloid headlines were created from scratch in Photoshop, all the stories were typed in manually... Around 90% of them are authentic press news imported from various archives of the era... Only one had to be crafted by me because I wasn't able to find the original text, although the event described is true. I had loads of fun putting this together. Hopefully, it shows.

Invasion of the Saucermen + Last Stop Tokyo

TOP:
I turned this 2011 unused sketch of Joey Ramone into a tribute to the vintage B-production SF movies and the punk rock band The Lillingtons whose lyrics explore the very same iconography (check out their classic 1999 record "Death by Television"). The Ramones had similar moments - remember the song called "Zero Zero UFO" from 1989's "Brain Drain"? RIGHT: Joey Ramone as the Modesty Blaise type of a super-spy in the Cold War setting. This pin-up was inspired by the Riverdales' song "Last Stop Tokyo" and Lillingtons' phenomenal spy-themed album "The Backchannel Broadcast". Both bands were musically and thematically heavily influenced by the Ramones, so when I listen to their records I can only picture Joey Ramone singing those awesome lyrics.

Tom Waits

Last November I drew this Tom Waits portrait as a birthday present for my best mate. It was colored traditionally in grayscale watercolor. Prior to that I scanned the lineart and now here's a digitally painted version in technicolor.

NOFX: Backstage Passport

Fat Mike (bass, lead vocals), El Hefe (lead guitar, trumpet, backing vocals), Eric Melvin (rhythm guitar, accordion, the mel-yell) and Smelly (drums) from NOFX. Also, Kent, Jay Walker, Rugly and Limo from their road-crew. NOFX are an American punk band formed in California in 1983. Today, they are probably the biggest and most popular independent punk band in the world best known for their D.I.Y. approach to music (minimal staff and crew, self-management, promotion and show booking, staying off the major record labels, mainstream magazines, MTV and commercial radio stations). The artwork was inspired by their reality TV documentary series "NOFX: Backstage Passport" which was a lot of fun! I wanted to capture a kind of "trading card" look to it.

Check out the awesome "NOFX: Backstage Passport" theme song.

Ramones !

The Ramones were my favorite band during high-school, featured in my drawings as far back as 2000. Very inspirational characters and always so much fun to draw! Updated in 2017!

Aerosmith

Some Aerosmith fan art drawn in 2010, colored in 2013. Bought my first Aerosmith cassette when I was 13. I rarely listen to the band now, but when I do (once in a couple of years) it makes me wanna draw them badass dudes. I'm considering adding the remaining bandmates and making this a pin-up...

Partibrejkers

A tribute to the cult Belgrade garage/blues/punk-rock band. The lyrics snippets were written in hand by my friends: Jana Aleksić, Bojana Janjić, Sonja Baltezarević, Ksenija Marković, Bojan Palikuća, Milutin Bešlić, Filip Janković and Miloš Dimitrijević. Thanks, guys!

Billy Idol

Billy Idol put a great show in Belgrade last week. The first piece was inspired by his 1993 experimental concept album Cyberpunk often regarded as his weakest record that started the decline of his career. I, on the other hand, think that this futuristic concept album, influenced by techno and cyberpunk literature, suited Idol's image perfectly and to me it remains his most imaginative effort. But I'm weird, so...

Iggy / Funboy

A cross between Iggy Pop and a character named FunBoy from "The Crow" that was loosely based on Pop's persona (Pop was supposedly cast in the role, but due to his touring commitments the part went to Michael Massee eventually).

The lyrics are off Pop's 1996 album "Naughty Little Doggie", the track "I Wanna Live". The background is an homage to Detroit - the city in which the dark and violent movie takes place and which spawned garage proto-punk bands such as Iggy's own Stooges.

Updated in 2013.

Iggy Pop

Easily one of my all-time favorite performers. I saw Iggy's show live in Belgrade in 2008. His onstage passion, honesty and dedication has been a constant inspiration to me. This has been inspired by Pop's looks during the 1993-1994 "American Caesar" era. UPDATE: Colors were redone in 2012.
